FAQs

Do I need a life coach?

We all have been faced with challenges in life and difficult decisions.  Some, we have managed to cope with; and yet, others we still wonder.  We have that burning desire to live a fulfilled life that will showcase our true potential.  A life coach aims to help and empower you to make, meet, and exceed your personal and professional goals.  They can help you discover obstacles and move forward in designing the purpose-filled life you want.

How can a life coach help me?

A life coach is certified to help you in a variety of areas. Professionally, a life coach can help you focus on your career and next move.  A life coach can also help you decide if entrepreneurship is for you or how can you lead a team effectively.  Personally, a life coach can help you improve your relationships with other people and possibly your overall well-being.  Through life coaching, you can discover how to live a more balanced and fulfilling life.

Life Coaching vs. Therapy

Life coaches are much different than therapists.  They are not focused on helping you overcome your psychological or medical needs.  Life coaching is often seen as a partnership between you and your life coach, who will gently encourage you to explore how to make positive changes in your life so you can move forward with the life you want.  A life coach will help you remove barriers while offering support and feedback to help you to stay focused on your goals and ways to achieve them.

What happens during life coaching sessions?

Life coaching sessions typically last between 45 minutes and 60 minutes.  Sessions can be conducted over the phone, face to face, over email, and occasionally through video conferencing.

During your coaching sessions, your life coach will ask you a series of questions to challenge you in the areas you identified in your Discovery Session.  Although your coach will work with you and hold you accountable, it’s up to you to challenge or reflect upon various ideas to help you move forward with your life.  Your coach will never force you to make any decisions you don’t feel comfortable with.

Are our conversations confidential?

While the law does not grant the privilege of confidentiality to life coaches, what we discuss will not be shared with others.  Life coaching is a confidential process; and, must remain so for it to be successful, allow you to explore your thoughts and feelings privately, and set goals that are unique to you.
